Tinyphone for Mac. You set up a phone once.
Plug the iPhone in and pick a mode. About fifteen minutes later it has only those apps, and nothing on the phone can bring the rest back.
You'll need
- A Mac on macOS 27 and Apple Configurator, free on the Mac App Store
- A USB cable and any iPhone on iOS 18 or later
- About fifteen minutes. The phone is erased once
What comes back
- eSIMs stay. Photos, contacts, notes and messages in iCloud come back after sign-in
- App data, the Home Screen layout and Apple Watch pairing do not come back
- Every later change: plug in, change, apply. Seconds, no erase. Or from your own iPhone or the web, with Cloud
What setup does
- Reads the phone first: iOS, supervision, profiles, apps
- Checks Find My is off, a backup exists, iCloud is on
- Erases, reinstalls iOS, supervises, installs the mode, hands over for Apple Account sign-in
- Reads the phone again and shows you what it carries
What it can't do
- A Mac is required; this cannot be done from the phone
- The phone is erased once; app data, the layout and Apple Watch pairing do not come back
- A determined person with a computer can factory-restore out. Right for your own bad nights, kids and grandparents, not a jail for a motivated teenager
- The download opens when the signed 1.0 is published
Can I undo it?
Yes, from the same Mac: switch the phone to Full Phone, remove Tinyphone's profiles, or erase and start over. The key is on your Mac and backed up in your iCloud Keychain.
Does anything leave my Mac?
Not unless you sign in. Without an account, setup and every change happen on your Mac. Signed in, you can add a phone to your account and change it over the air from your iPhone or the web; its settings go up, never the phone's content.
